A QCEC committee is a group of people with particular expertise, established to support the work of the Commission within its delegations in the implementation of its vision, mission, and strategic directions.
QCEC committees are a readily available source of advice that are both knowledgeable and representative. Each Committee is accountable to the Commission, through the Executive Director, according to the Committee’s Terms of Reference.
The number and type of committees (other than the Executive Committee) and their Terms of Reference, which will include their Membership and Period of Operation, is decided by the Commission. Any amendments to these conditions require the approval of QCEC.
To fulfill its terms of reference, each committee establishes subordinate groups, such as a subcommittee, reference group, working party, task force, writing team, network etc. The committee may also co-opt person/s with appropriate expertise on an ad hoc basis.
