Advisory body to monitor Church abuse reforms

A new Implementation Advisory Group has been set up to monitor the Catholic Church’s ongoing reforms in response to the findings and recommendations of the Royal Commission into Institutional Response to Child Sexual Abuse and the recommendations of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council (TJHC) which led the Church’s engagement with the Royal Commission.

The Advisory Group has been established by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference and Catholic Religious Australia following the winding up of the TJHC now that the work of the Royal Commission has ended.

The group will be chaired by Jack de Groot, CEO of St Vincent de Paul Society, New South Wales.
