QCEC welcomes new NCEC Director

The Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC) has welcomed the appointment of retiring Senator Jacinta Collins as the new Executive Director of the National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC).

QCEC Executive Director Dr Lee-Anne Perry said Senator Collins had been an untiring advocate for quality education across all sectors.

“I look forward to working with Jacinta in her role as Executive Director of NCEC,” Dr Perry said.

“I know she will ensure that the voice of the Catholic sector is heard in any education debate.

“Jacinta is well versed in the complex issues facing Australian schools and I know she will be a strong advocate for Catholic schools going forward.”

Dr Perry also paid tribute to outgoing NCEC Executive Director Ray Collins who has been acting in the role for the last year.

“Ray came out of retirement to step into the vacant Executive Director role and lead the sector through some of its most challenging times in recent memory.

“I thank Ray for his service and commitment to Catholic education and wish him well as he resumes his retirement.”
