World Teachers’ Day 2019 – A tribute to our teachers

On the eve of World Teachers’ Day, Queensland schools are busy preparing to thank teachers for the important role they play in our schools – at the heart of learning.

Celebrated on Friday 25 October, World Teachers Day (WTD) is an excellent opportunity to say thank you to teachers for the contributions they make to not only our schools, but also the wider community.

There are more than 11,500 Catholic school teachers in Queensland, supporting over 149,000 students.

Students, staff and parents from Mount Alvernia College, Padua College, and St Anthony’s Primary School at Kedron, have featured in the World Teachers’ Day (WTD) campaign promotional materials produced by the Queensland Department of Education this year.

Catholic schools across Queensland are encouraged to get involved and promote WTD, using the social media graphics, photo frames, certificates, thank you cards, screensavers and A4 posters all available for download from the WTD website.

In recognition of the day and as a proud WTD sponsor, Queensland Catholic Education Commission would like to thank all teachers for the outstanding contributions they have made to ensure our students thrive in their learning environments.
