The Queensland Catholic Education Commission has endorsed A reference document for Mission of Catholic schools in Queensland.
The document provides a reference point for Catholic Schools Authorities in discerning their mission.
The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference has endorsed the document, A Framework for Formation for Mission in Catholic Education.
Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB, chair of the Bishops Commission for Catholic Education, launched the document on 20 March 2017.
A video introduction to the Framework can be viewed here.
The Framework document is supported by a website which includes valuable information and resources for building and nurturing the faith environment in Catholic schools. Visit the website.
Formation for staff members in Catholic schools in Queensland provides information to assist Catholic School Authorities in supporting and promoting the provision of quality formation experiences for staff.
This document was endorsed by the Commission in March 2016.
QCEC has as a key focus area:

The visit by Thomas Groome, Professor of Theology and Religious Education at Boston College, to the 2016 QCEC Colloquium provided the opportunity for leaders in Catholic education to explore the notion of a Catholic perspective to the taught curriculum in appropriate places outside of the Religious Education subject.
A summary of the topics and discussion explored during the Colloquium can be found here.
In 2010 QCEC in collaboration with Dr Jan Grajczonek (ACU) developed a Framework for Early Years Spiritual Development in the Catholic Tradition that early childhood education and care services may use with the approval of the relevant Bishop. The Framework defines spirituality and explores practical ways to nurture young children’s spiritual and religious development.
